Primland, Auberge Resort Collection

I’m recently back from a quick girls getaway to Primland, an Auberge Resort located in Meadows of Dan, Virginia, which is just over 2 hours from Charlotte.

Located among 12,000 acres, Primland combines luxurious accommodations with activities galore. While on-site, guests have the ability to fill their days with outdoor experiences, rejuvenation at the spa, stargazing on a clear night, and exceptional dining. For the golfers, there is a Donald Steel 18-hole course, which opened in 2006 and has been consistently ranked the #1 golf course in Virginia year after year.

Accommodations at Primland range from rooms at the Lodge, Pinnacle rooms (located a quick walk from the Lodge), multi-bedroom options at the Cottages, Tree Houses perched among the mountains (with incredible views), and a newly opened 6 bedroom residence. It’s important to talk through the accommodation options, which is something I assist clients with when going through the booking process.

During my visit, I dined at Leatherflower, which features refined dining in an upscale but relaxed environment, and at Laurel Bar, which features updated clubhouse favorites. I was very impressed with both dining options - from the service to the quality of our meals. On certain days of the week, a special dining experience is held at the Stables Saloon, where guests can enjoy a family-style meal and live music.

Who is Primland good for? I think Primland is a great option for couples, families, and groups of friends. With so many activities on-site, children will be entertained by the great outdoors and multi-generation families will all find something of interest during their stay.

If you’re interested in staying at Primland, when you book with Jessica Drew Travel you receive the following perks during your stay:

  • Daily Full breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, served in the hotel restaurant

  • $100 USD credit to be utilized during stay

  • Upgrade on arrival (subject to availability)

Montage Palmetto Bluff

Over Christmas break my husband and I were able to get away for a quick stay at Montage Palmetto Bluff, located in Bluffton, South Carolina. Since we were there right before Christmas, the whole property was beautifully decorated.

Nestled along the May River, Montage Palmetto Bluff features luxurious accommodations (including a traditional hotel, stand alone cottages, and multi bedroom, fully equipped homes), multiple dining options, incredible activities, a beautiful spa, all set among the backdrop of the beautiful lowcountry.

This was my third visit to Palmetto Bluff, and I love that every time I’m blown away by the hospitality and beautiful setting. I’ve stayed in a different type of accommodation each time, and they all have their own unique attributes. When looking at Palmetto Bluff it’s important to consider the location of your room, cottage, or house. I love helping clients find the best fit!

Since our visit was quick, I didn’t stop into the spa this time, but I would typically schedule either a massage or a facial. The spa is equipped with amenities like a steam and sauna, and there is an adults-only pool attached to the spa as well. This is especially great in the summer when the pools are busy all day.

The best way to get around the property is on the complimentary bikes. When the weather is nice, which it is most of the year, it’s a great way to explore all Palmetto Bluff has to offer.

My must do’s are:

  • visit the spa

  • dine at the River House

  • stop into Hush, the speakeasy

  • visit the Paris Market

  • enjoy the outdoors and river views

  • get outside!

Who is Montage Palmetto Bluff good for? I truly think anyone would enjoy Palmetto Bluff. I have visited with my extended family, a few girlfriends, and my husband, and each time has been such an enjoyable experience.

If you’re interested in staying at Montage Palmetto Bluff, when you book with Jessica Drew Travel you receive the following perks during your stay:

  • Daily Full breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, served in Octagon or in-room dining

  • $100 USD credit to be utilized during stay

  • Upgrade at time of booking (subject to availability)

  • Early Check-In / Late Check-Out (subject to availability)

Four Seasons Palm Beach

My husband and I recently traveled to Palm Beach, Florida for an extended weekend getaway. We decided to travel to Palm Beach for a few reasons: it’s a non-stop flight from Charlotte, our travel time was minimal, there is great shopping and dining, and Four Seasons Palm Beach is right on the beach.

We opted to stay at Four Seasons Palm Beach, which is located just south of West Palm Beach. While there are a few places to stay in Palm Beach, we loved that Four Seasons Palm Beach is about 15 minutes from Palm Beach International Airport, is located directly on the water, and is close enough to the city to go back and forth.

Four Seasons Palm Beach is the only Five-Diamond, Five-Star property in the area, and features a relaxed but luxurious aesthetic throughout the property. During our time at Four Seasons Palm Beach, we spent quiet mornings enjoying coffee and breakfast, dining oceanside at Seaway (order the Chirashi bowl), and enjoying the pool and ocean views.

While we dined in town (Sant Ambroeus, Buccan and Echo), we also enjoyed a fantastic meal at Florie’s. We also shopped along Worth Avenue, got a cocktail at the Colony Palm Beach, and had a pre-dinner drink and appetizer at Seafood Bar at the Breakers (order the filet mignon sliders). We loved stopping into the Breakers to see the history and grandeur of the property.

While I didn’t schedule a visit for myself, Four Seasons Palm Beach does have a spa on-site that offers massages, facials, body treatments, and more. The spa is beautiful and I would love to visit in the future!

Who is Four Seasons Palm Beach good for? During our visit, we saw couples (including quite a few babymoons!), families, and groups of friends. I personally can’t wait to return, either with just my husband again or with Lola is tow.

If you’d like to experience Four Seasons Palm Beach yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out to start planning your getaway! I loved this special place and can’t wait for clients to experience the area.

When you book Four Seasons Palm Beach with Jessica Drew Travel, you receive the following perks during your stay:

  • Daily breakfast (for 2 guests per bedroom)

  • A one category room upgrade, subject to availability upon arrival

  • A one time hotel credit per room per stay (amount depends on room category)

Maroma, a Belmond Hotel

Next up on my recent tour of Riviera Maya is the incredible Maroma, a Belmond Hotel, which recently reopened after an extensive renovation.

Maroma is beautifully situated between the lush jungle of Riviera Maya and the tranquil Caribbean sea. The beachfront location of Maroma is unique to the area as most properties are set back from the beach. It truly feels like a Caribbean escape in the heart of Riviera Maya.

The resort boasts light, airy, art-filled rooms decorated in an indigenous style. Maroma is a secluded hideaway where guests can enjoy beachfront restaurants, artisanal mezcals (my new favorite cocktail), rare wines, fresh cuisine, and rejuvenation at the Guerlain spa.

During my time Maroma I loved experiencing the beachfront accommodations (complete with a pillow menu for optimal sleep), drinks at Freddy’s Bar, and memorable dining experiences at Casa Mayor and Woodend (a restaurant by renowned chef Curtis Stone).

Attention to detail is strong Maroma, especially following the partnership of Belmond and luxury powerhouse LVMH.

Who is Maroma good for? I think Maroma is great for anyone looking for an authentic, luxury getaway in Riviera Maya. I truly felt like I was in Riviera Maya, as Maroma features a strong sense of place, which is very well done.

If you’d like to experience Maroma yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out to start planning your getaway! I loved this special place in the Yucatán and can’t wait for clients to experience the magic of the area.

When you book Maroma with Jessica Drew Travel, you receive the following perks during your stay:

  • Daily à la carte breakfast (for 2 guests per bedroom) in Casa Mayor

  • A one category room upgrade, subject to availability upon arrival

  • US$100 hotel credit per room per stay

Rosewood Mayakoba

I’m just back from a trip to Riviera Maya, where I was able to visit two incredible properties before traveling to Cancun for a travel industry conference where I met with over 400 colleagues and partners.

My first stop was Rosewood Mayakoba, which is located just 45 minutes from the Cancun airport, making it an easy spot for a sunny vacation.

Rosewood Mayakoba is situated among protected mangroves and features direct beach access, multiple pools, an adults only beach club, creative dining outlets, an expansive kids club, and extremely attentive and kind staff.

With all suite style rooms, the accommodations are spacious and feature plunge pools for a quick dip after the pool or beach. The property is expansive, so it’s important to know where you’d like to be within the property for your stay. I loved being close to the main dining and pool, but some guests may want to be closer to the beach.

During my stay I loved lounging by the pool, grabbing a Mezcal cocktail at Zapote Bar before dinner, and enjoying dinner at Rosé one evening, a special Italian dining experience at Casa del Lago during the month of October. Prior to visiting Rosewood Mayakoba I didn’t understand the hype around Mezcal, but now I do!

Who is Rosewood Mayakoba good for? Whether you’re looking for the perfect spot for a family getaway or a quick vacation as a couple, it’s a beautiful destination to spend time connecting with family and friends.
