Maroma, a Belmond Hotel

Next up on my recent tour of Riviera Maya is the incredible Maroma, a Belmond Hotel, which recently reopened after an extensive renovation.

Maroma is beautifully situated between the lush jungle of Riviera Maya and the tranquil Caribbean sea. The beachfront location of Maroma is unique to the area as most properties are set back from the beach. It truly feels like a Caribbean escape in the heart of Riviera Maya.

The resort boasts light, airy, art-filled rooms decorated in an indigenous style. Maroma is a secluded hideaway where guests can enjoy beachfront restaurants, artisanal mezcals (my new favorite cocktail), rare wines, fresh cuisine, and rejuvenation at the Guerlain spa.

During my time Maroma I loved experiencing the beachfront accommodations (complete with a pillow menu for optimal sleep), drinks at Freddy’s Bar, and memorable dining experiences at Casa Mayor and Woodend (a restaurant by renowned chef Curtis Stone).

Attention to detail is strong Maroma, especially following the partnership of Belmond and luxury powerhouse LVMH.

Who is Maroma good for? I think Maroma is great for anyone looking for an authentic, luxury getaway in Riviera Maya. I truly felt like I was in Riviera Maya, as Maroma features a strong sense of place, which is very well done.

If you’d like to experience Maroma yourself, don’t hesitate to reach out to start planning your getaway! I loved this special place in the Yucatán and can’t wait for clients to experience the magic of the area.

When you book Maroma with Jessica Drew Travel, you receive the following perks during your stay:

  • Daily à la carte breakfast (for 2 guests per bedroom) in Casa Mayor

  • A one category room upgrade, subject to availability upon arrival

  • US$100 hotel credit per room per stay

the Cadogan, a Belmond Hotel

After two nights in the English countryside, I made my way into London. I was able to spend one night at the Cadogan, a Belmond Hotel, centrally located in Chelsea and close to incredible shopping in Knightsbridge.

From the moment I stepped foot inside the Cadogan I felt like I was in my home away from home. The lobby is a cozy environment with a roaring fireplace to warm guests on arrival. The Cadogan reopened in 2019 after an extensive restoration of the heritage building, which dates back to 1887. Featuring two dining outlets, LaLee and an elegant tea lounge, the Cadogan is a bit of an escape from the hustle and bustle of central London.

Guests of the Cadogan can enjoy access to Cadogan Place Gardens, a private garden space right across the street.

My room was spacious and comfortable and I was thrilled to see a luxurious bathroom to relax in after a day exploring.

Who is the Cadogan good for? In my opinion, couples, single travelers, and families alike will be happy staying in the truly British space!
